About
Anita Tung LPC, LMHC, NCC
Certified Imago Relationship Therapist
I am a licensed professional counselor, who provides personalized and compassionate therapy to individuals and couples seeking to live healthier, more harmonious lives. My practice is grounded in the belief that all people have the capacity to overcome challenges and thrive when offered nonjudgmental support and quality care. I believe that when we courageously address our painful experiences, conflicts, and fears, we open up within ourselves the potential for healing, growth, and deeper connection.

My approach is rooted in attachment and psychodynamic theories. I am curious about how past experiences and early relationships influence our current thoughts, interactions and coping strategies. I use Imago principles and dialogue to support relational healing. I also integrate mindfulness practices, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and family systems theory into my work to help clients gain awareness and learn practical skills.

I hold dual master's degrees in Counseling and Organizational Psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University, and completed postgraduate clinical training at NYU Silver School of Social Work. I am a Certified Imago Relationship Therapist and Prepare/Enrich Facilitator. I have clinical experience working in school, agency, outpatient and private practice settings.

I am a sensitive, warm and empathic person. My style is gentle, collaborative, and direct. I believe the connection made between therapist and client is the foundation for therapeutic success. My goal is for clients to have a positive, transformative experience - one in which they feel heard, supported, and empowered on their healing journeys.
